Three times a day the free ski bus takes you directly from the hotel to the Alta Badia ski area – convenient, fast and stress-free. From there, you can also set off on legendary ski circuits such as the Sella Ronda, the historic Gebirgsjägertour / Kriegerrunde (First World War Tour), or the spectacular Giro delle Cime.

Just 7 km from La Valle, another winter sports highlight awaits you at Plan de Corones: 120 varied kilometres of slopes and a stunning 360-degree panorama. A downhill run to Perca connects you directly to the train to Versciaco–San Candido – and with it to the fascinating ski region of Tre Cime/Three Peaks – Dolomiti di Sesto.

The Alta Badia cross-country skiing centre near San Cassiano is located just around 15 km from Hotel Pider. Along 26 km of cross-country trails, you glide past forests and meadows at the foot of Conturines, Lavarella and Settsass. With the cross-country ski pass, you even have access to 1300 km of Dolomiti Nordicski – a true paradise for all cross-country skiers.

Around La Valle and Alta Badia, idyllic winter trails are waiting to be explored by you: take a stroll through the historic farms of La Valle or to the small St. Barbara church. With snowshoes, head out across the Armentara meadows with views of Sas dla Crusc, or up to the Fanes Plateau – pure nature and tranquillity as far as the eye can see!

Tobogganing, ski touring, snowboarding – winter adventures around La Valle

However, the area around La Valle also offers numerous opportunities to practice other winter sports. After a leisurely hour-long ascent, the Rit–Biei toboggan run right in La Valle offers 1.8 km of tobogganing fun for young and old alike. By contrast, the ski tour to the Passo di Sant’Antonio leads through quiet forests and rewards you with impressive views of Cima Nove and Cima Dieci in the Monte Santa Croce group – while snowboard fans will find plenty of action at the Snowpark Alta Badia.

From La Valle, scenic paths lead to some of the most beautiful high-altitude landscapes: Tru di Pra, the tranquil Chi Jus meadow, the sun-drenched Rit areas and the wide-open Armentara meadows. The starting point of these tours is usually easy to reach, as it is located directly in the village or is very well connected to public transport.

Via ferrata routes in Alta Badia

Around Alta Badia, a terrain full of lines, holds, and excitement awaits. Whether taking your first steps in rock climbing or aiming for ambitious altitude goals: everyone can find their dream route here. From the one-hour Via ferrata Averau with 200 metres of ascent, to the moderately difficult Vallon route on Piz Boè (860 m ascent – 4¼ hours), right through to the challenging via ferratas on Monte Santa Croce and Cima Dieci (1,240 m ascent – 7½ hours), there’s something for everyone.
